Continuing from part 1 of 2, we also have in the month of May 2014…
8. Awaken the Dragon 2014 Workshops. SGD5 off per person if the workshop is held in the month of May! Create your own clay work and have it fired by one of the two remaining dragon kilns in Singapore instead of a conventional electric oven. You may also get a share of the heat by visiting the kiln.
Venue: off-site dragon workshop at your location or on-site dragon workshop at the kiln premises. For details, click here or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Workshops: now till 31 August 2014
Festival: 17-23 November 2014
9. Art Basel Hong Kong. A friend of mine attended the previous round and he is visiting this one too, I am so jealous.
Venue: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC)
Date/time: 15-18 May 2014
10. Art-performance making, artist’s talk and workshop(s). Anything comprising or involving the word “butoh” attracts my keen attention. But of course, the talk and workshop(s) by Delphine Mae are much much more than that, and much much more eye-opening. Perhaps also body-opening if you sign up for the workshop(s).
Venue: Independent Archive and Resource Centre, 67 Aliwal Street, Singapore 199942
Artist’s talk: 21 May 2014, 7.30-9.30pm. For details, click here.
Workshop(s): 24 & 25 May 2014. For details and to sign up, click here.
11. Cynthia Daignault: Das Tauschregal. Have you ever barter traded an object for a painting with an artist? The exchange activities should have been completed by now. Traded objects and paintings will be exhibited on Das Tauschregal or The Barter Shelf.
Opening reception: tomorrow, 7 May 2014, 6-8pm.
“All thirty-one objects will be displayed on a shelf, beginning on the first day of May. Each subsequent day, one painting will replace the object it depicts. At the end of the month, the shelf will hold only paintings, exchanging concrete commodity for abstract representation, as in currency.”
Venue: 6 Decades Books, 265 Canal Street #210, New York 10013. Tel: +1(347) 766-4106. Email: email@example.com
Exhibition hours: Fridays & Saturdays, 12noon-6pm, and by appointment
This offsite project is developed by Lisa Cooley and organised in collaboration with the artist.
